What do these do?

Website: Opens a web page in the browser.
Text: Displays plain text on screen. Nothing opens — good for notes, instructions, or serial numbers.
Wi-Fi: Joins a wireless network without anyone typing the password.
Contact: Saves a person's details straight to the phone's address book.
Email: Opens a new email, with the subject and message already filled in. It isn't sent automatically.
SMS: Opens a new text message to a number, with the message already filled in. It isn't sent automatically.
Phone: Starts a phone call to a number. Most phones ask for confirmation first.
Location: Opens a map at a specific place.
Event: Offers to add an appointment to the calendar.

Finder patterns (the three corner eyes)

Only data modules are restyled. The finder, alignment and timing patterns stay hard squares because a scanner finds them by their shape before it reads a single bit.

Scannability

Quiet zone (modules)

4 is the spec minimum and the default. Cropping the quiet zone is the single most common reason a good-looking code won't scan, so this stops at 2.

SVG is the source of truth — vector, and it scales cleanly to any size. There is no JPEG option: lossy compression on hard-edged blocks is the wrong codec, and a slightly artifacted QR is a slightly broken one.
